Abstract
The landscape of standards and codes for bridge design is continuously evolving, with a surge in new guidelines over recent years. To effectively incorporate these standards, it is imperative to comprehend their implications. Despite significant advancements in structural design and modeling in recent times, there remains ample room for improvement. Various countries employ distinct highway bridge design concepts and standards. In the context of Indian highways, a multitude of bridges adhere to different design criteria. Notably, many bridges are designed according to the specifications of the Indian Road Congress (IRC) and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) standards. The IRC has adopted both these standards for highway and feeder road infrastructure. This thesis undertakes an extensive review of renowned codes, meticulously examining prevailing code requisites and prevalent practices in bridge design acro

Abstract
Internal combustion engines have been playing a vital role and will remain an active area of engineering education and research in future. Most of the researches in internal combustion engines are of operating performance and fuel performance improvement oriented. Almost all of the components in an internal combustion engine are subjected to heat loads. Every mechanical component Engine block, Exhaust muffler have been designed for a particular structural and heat strength. Cylinder block melting are typical problems when heat and structural loads on the components exceed the design strength. In the current study attempt has been made to simulate the physical working conditions of components of an internal combustion engine. The analysis is virtual simulation (because it was carried out with the help of a digital computer and a software tool-ANSYS 17). The current study emphasizes on stress, strain, temperature, heat flux, thermal gradient distributions in the component Piston, Engine

Abstract
The diesel fuel used in engines for power generation in various industrial applications produce high exhaust pollutants because of poor engine performance. It has become a need to reduce these pollutants by using suitable additives along with diesel and improve the engine performance. The present research work focuses at improving the engine performance by using selected blending agents of linseed oil and watermelon seed oil, having low contaminants in the emission. The performance study of a diesel engine with these diesel blends were carried out at different compression ratios and loads using five chosen samples. The combustion performance parameters like Mechanical, Volumetric, Brake thermal efficiencies and Specific Fuel Consumption are studied. The fuel sample blends containing 90% Diesel has shown better combustion performance compared with diesel at high compression ratio. The Specific fuel consumption for the blend containing watermelon seed oil and ethanol (5% each by volume)

Abstract
Among the renewable energy sources, solar energy has been utilized more adequately due to its wide availability and being a reliable source of energy source. Solar cooling and refrigeration have emerged as a basic need for human comfort along with food conservation. However, since renewable energy sources are time-dependent, there are problems that occur due to the mismatch of energy supply and energy demand. Hence to resolve the issues, thermal energy storage techniques can be used which stores the energy and provides uninterrupted energy based on the requirement. Phase change materials can be used for this purpose since PCM has better capacity in terms of storing energy and isothermal behaviour during both charging and discharging processes. By observing the results obtained from the analysis that under the same operating conditions and time, the D-mannitol has stored the higher energy as compared to the hydroquinone. From these obtained results it can be suggested that the D-mannito
